Life Insurance for families, mortgage cover and business assurance
Do you need life insurance?
In our opinion, not everyone needs life cover, but if your children, partner or other relatives depend on you and your income to cover the normal monthly mortgage payments, or other living expenses, then the answer is “yes”, you probably do need life insurance, because quite simply it will help provide financial security for your family in the event of your death.
Nobody can rely on the government to take care financially for your family. The state benefits paid in the event of death are much lower than you probably expect. So, if you want to properly provide for your family’s financial security if you die prematurely, then we believe that life insurance is a must.
If you have a mortgage (or a portfolio of mortgages), these debts will need to be repaid in the event of premature death during the term of the loan. The lender will require the borrowed funds to be redeemed, and life insurance is the fastest, most efficient way of managing that process. You want to leave your property(ies) to your intended beneficiaries, don't leave them with the added stress and hassle of debt, solicitors, lenders, debt collectors, red letters and having to spend time and money dealing with this 'loose end'.
How much does it cost?
As your Adviser, we would also ask, what is the cost to your family if you were to die and not have life insurance in place? Life insurance can indeed be very good value, especially when you compare the cost of having it in place, versus not! Depending on your age and health status, the cost could be as low as a few pence a day to provide your loved ones with plenty of financial protection.
Note - The cost of a life insurance policy depends on a variety of factors, including the amount of money you want to cover (i.e. mortgage amount, final expenses, income to provide for your family, business shareholding, partnership insurance etc.,), the length of term of the policy, and also of course your age, your health, your lifestyle and occupation, and whether you are a smoker or not.
Monthly premiums can vary, so it’s always best to shop around.
